Looking to hit the slopes at Blue Mountain Resort this winter but don’t have any skis? Not to worry!
Here are the best places to find ski rentals at Blue Mountain!
Blue Mountain Resort
Blue Mountain Resort itself is the most practical option for ski rentals.
Their easy-to-use online booking system lets you input your age and ability while selecting the date and type of equipment you are looking for. From there, Blue Mountain will suggest the best ski rental bundle for you, including different levels of ski boots, skis, helmets & poles.
If you are looking for a la carte options, Blue Mountain has that too, but they cannot be booked online, and you’ll have to visit Activity Central to see what’s available.
Unfortunately, Blue Mountain will frequently run out of rentals due to the popularity of its system. Thus, it’s recommended you reserve your rentals well in advance of visiting. If they are sold out, then your next best option is to inquire with the shops listed below!
Rental Options:
Bundles
- Snow How Ski Rental + System Bundle (includes beginner lift ticket, skis, boots, poles, helmet, and access to a self-learn system on Smart Terrain)
- Standard Adult Ski Rental (includes ski boots, skis, helmet & poles)
- Performance Adult Ski Rental (includes ski boots, skis, helmet & poles)
- Standard Youth Ski Rental (includes ski boots, skis, & helmet – no poles)
Blue Mountain uses a dynamic pricing model that provides varying prices depending on the rental dates and duration of the rental (i.e. one or two, or three days). As such, there’s no set price for these bundles, and it’s best to look well in advance to see what dates are the cheapest and/or what dates still have availability!
À la Carte
À la Carte options include helmets ($15/day), winter jackets ($29/day), snow pants ($29/day), goggles ($20/day), and performance skis (prices vary). Boots cannot be rented by themselves and are only available in the above bundles.
Remember, these items cannot be booked online and are only available in person. Quantities are limited, so please be prepared to purchase this equipment if no rentals are available.

Their rentals are offered in bundles that include skis, boots, poles and a helmet. A la carte options are also available.
If booking online isn’t your thing, Alpine Sports also allows in-store rentals. They pride themself on providing the fastest service in town, so your wait time shouldn’t be much longer than if you were to pre-book them online!

The theme of online booking systems continues here, with Mountainside Sports also offering a great webpage where you can select and reserve the best ski rental option for you. Several bundles are available, as well as a la carte options.
Interestingly, they offer a night ski rental option, which is great for those starting their trip with a night ski or those who only have time to visit in the evening.
The shop is easily accessible as you drive to Blue Mountain from Collingwood. This makes it an excellent option for quick pick-ups and easy drop-offs, especially if parking at Blue Mountain’s South Base Lodge.

Conclusion
Skiing is a fantastic sport, attracting millions of people outside and onto the slopes every single year. That said, ski equipment can get expensive, and investing in everything you need to ski before knowing if it’s the sport for you may be a bit much.
But that’s why rentals are great! They let you try skiing for a relatively low price, allowing you to get a feel for things and really decide if you want to pursue the sport further before investing hundreds or thousands of dollars into your equipment.
Luckily, Blue Mountain is full of great ski rental options, all of which can be pre-ordered to ensure your equipment is ready to go when you arrive. Simply shop around, see what prices and options are best for you, and consider where the pick-up location is in relation to where you’re parking or staying.
Alright, that’s it from me. Have fun out there!
