Here’s a complete list of my favourite mountain bike shops in Toronto. Read through and find the best one for you!
A Quick Word
Before you read too far, please note that we’re strictly talking about Toronto mountain bike shops here. This isn’t a complete list of Toronto bike shops and isn’t considering city bikes, commuter bikes, road bikes, and so on!
Instead, we are looking at bike shops in Toronto that specifically cater to mountain bikers. That is, bike shops that focus on people who are riding, looking to purchase, or need service on an XC bike, trail bike, enduro bike, or downhill bike.
If you’re looking to purchase or get service on a city or road bike, the shops on this list can certainly help you, but other stores may have more inventory and better service options for those types of bikes.
Alright, let’s jump into the list!

Trek (Queen West)
Located in downtown Toronto, Trek’s Queen West store is the place to go if you’re living in the city and want to buy a Trek. The staff know the brand inside and out, meaning they can get into the details of what Trek bike, model, parts, and apparel will suit you best. Working directly with a corporate store also helps with warranty issues, giving you some piece of mind that any replacements will be dealt with quickly.

Giant Toronto
The story is the same here – another corporate shop for one of the world’s largest bike brands. Like Trek, Giant’s Toronto flagship store is in downtown Toronto on Queen West. The store is all things Giant, so if you want to learn more about Giant mountain bikes or are already set on purchasing one, this is the shop for you.

Bonus: Toronto Mountain Bike Rentals
This is a question I see from time to time, so I decided to add a short, dedicated section to address it here. As far as I know, the only shop currently offering mountain bike rentals in Toronto is Bateman’s Trail Shop location.
That said, starting in 2024, Sweet Pete’s plans to provide mountain bike rentals. Cycle Solutions in the Beaches used to provide mountain bike rentals but aren’t currently and haven’t indicated if they will be moving forward – that said, I’d check back in in 2024 to see if anything’s changed for them.
Unfortunately, that’s about it, with no other shops I’m aware of currently offering or planning to offer mountain bike rentals in Toronto.
Final Thoughts
Toronto’s mountain bike scene is fantastic. Not only is the city filled with some of the best mountain bike trails in Ontario (check out my post on the Don Valley to learn more), but it’s also surrounded by a growing number of amazing trail networks, all within an hour’s drive of the city.
Thankfully, there is also a growing number of great mountain bike shops in Toronto, each standing by, ready to help you with whatever you need. So, if you’re new to the city and looking for a go-to mountain bike shop or a long-time resident looking to switch things up, reference the list above – you won’t be disappointed!
Hi Garrett,
Just wanted to congratulate you on this great website, i really love it! I’m 57 and just getting into mountain biking (as a way to elevate my fitness for beer league hockey!) I’ve been taking my ’94 Giant Sedona Chromoly to Hydrocut (Intermediate Trails) and I’m sorta getting addicted to this sport, it’s a rush. Your site is really clean, great photos, great info, i’m learning a lot, much appreciated! I realize i may need to upgrade my bike since my current ride is somewhat bone jarring, as a newbie the most difficult fact to absorb is the cost of entry, so i appreciate your perspective on ‘budget’ bikes, it’s tempting to look at all the sub $1K options but what you’re saying is ‘you’ll regret it’ and i get it.
I’m a fan!
Hi Syl, thank you for your comment – I appreciate the kind words! The cost of a new bike can definitely be daunting, but the options in the $2,500-$4,000 range are incredible and will significantly outperform any sub $1,000 bike. So yes, I highly recommend spending a bit more to ensure you get a bike with great geometry and a solid build kit.
